The Story About Gunta

The Gunta bag is a tribute to heritage, resilience, and the beauty of things made slowly by human hands. Inspired by the Bauhaus weaving school and the work of Gunta Stölzl, this handmade bag is woven on a manual loom with 100% natural wool. Every thread, texture, and detail carries the soul of traditional craftsmanship into the present - proving that true uniqueness is not perfection, but time, emotion, and artistry made visible.

Fernando Rei

Fernando Rei is one of the last traditional hand weavers in Portugal still working on a wooden loom by hand. In the small village of Aboim da Nóbrega, in the north of Portugal, surrounded by deep greenery and silence, he continues an art that has been passed down through generations of his family. Fernando learned to weave from his mother, who herself had learned from his grandmother. Today, he still works on his grandmother’s loom, preserving not only a technique, but an entire way of living slowly and creating with intention.

Thread by thread, Fernando creates some of the most beautiful woven pieces by hand - keeping alive a disappearing Portuguese heritage through patience, memory, and craftsmanship.
